THE FIONA PROJECT — STICKERING THE WORLD

What was it?

It was an international participatory Internet surprise celebrating a special person named Fiona, who was celebrating a special birthday. I recruited volunteers and sent them stickers. They stuck the stickers somewhere and took pictures of them. The pictures are on Flickr -- you can see where they were taken on the map. (Here's a prettier map. You can also check out the most 'interesting' photos as ranked by Flickr.)

As of April 3, 2007, Fiona knows about the Fiona Project. Happy birthday, Fiona!

Credits

Sticker design by the amazing Khoi Uong (he says the hand is making an 'F' in sign language, but you can pretend it's a gang symbol if you want). Thanks to Rob Cockerham for technical, logistical and viral support.

The background

There have been other Fiona Projects: One, two, three.

Thanks to everyone who helped out!

I couldn't have done it without you.

There's a Flickr group for updates and chatter.
